Øystein worked for Statoil in the early days of reservoir simulation and oversaw many of the technical developments that we still use today, He held the positions of Advisor and Specialist in both Reservoir Management and in Wells and Rock Mechanics. Since 2000 he has worked in research at the University of Bergen where he has worked in Mathematics and Petroleum Research.
