GeoMark Research has been providing petroleum systems and reservoir engineering data and interpretation for over 30 years.  Based on this experience, GeoMark will share learnings regarding important features of a modern subsurface database, common challenges that occur when combining publicly provided data with proprietary datasets and a few examples of the data in action.
The examples will illustrate the usefulness of an evergreen dataset and its application for both exploration and development scale projects.  Examples from the deep water Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea will be presented.

Catherine Donohue

Catherine is the Director of Petroleum Data Products at GeoMark Research. Prior to joining GeoMark, Catherine worked as a Petroleum Systems Analyst for several operators working on New Ventures and exploration level projects that regularly included geochemical databases to develop geologic models for source rock deposition and maturation.  Additionally, she designed and executed sampling and analytical programs to prove exploration concepts and initiate appraisal programs.  She also has experience with development scale projects including production allocation in both conventional and unconventional settings.  Through all her work experience, the application of geochemistry has been a common thread. Research interests currently included maximizing hydrocarbon extraction techniques, applications of QQQ data, oil mobility estimation and integration of PVT data.

Kevin Ferworn

Dr. Ferworn has over twenty years’ experience with PVT, Gas Isotope and Flow Assurance analyses and project management. Following a thesis on experimental and modeling studies of asphaltene precipitation, Dr. Ferworn joined DB Robinson Research in Edmonton, Canada as a petroleum fluids project manager. Responsibilities included experimental analyses, data processing and interpretation for clients. That work continued and expanded during employment with Pencor as CTO and GeoMark as Vice President.  Specifically, Dr. Ferworn developed GeoMark’s online PVT database, integrated and interpreted engineering and geochemistry data, and manages GeoMark's PVT and Gas Isotope laboratory.
