Webinar: Geochemical production allocation: a case study from Norway

The petroleum systems network group invites you to this webinar featuring Thorsten Garlichs and Placido Franco from Geolog International, Netherlands and Roberto Galimberti from Geolog Technologies, Italy. They will present on geochemical production allocation. Don't miss out on this great event.

This study focuses on using geochemical production allocation, specifically GC-fingerprinting and deconvolution algorithms, to allocate contributions from different end members (EMs) in a commingled production scenario. The case study field features up to six wells producing from the same reservoir formation, which are set as end members and are back allocated from a commingled production. Despite challenges like geochemical similarities between the EMs, the geochemical method allows for cost effective allocation.
Thorsten Uwe Garlichs is a professional in the field of geochemistry and hydrocarbon exploration, specializing in the application of geochemical fingerprinting techniques for production allocation and reservoir characterization. He has contributed to research on methods for analyzing mixed fluid samples from commingled production, focusing on cost-effective solutions for hydrocarbon allocation in complex geological settings. His work, including a notable pilot study on a Norwegian field, has provided valuable insights into optimizing geochemical techniques for accurate resource management and production monitoring.
