Access to released data
The Norwegian Offshore Directorate can release data that has been submitted to us and is not subject to confidentiality. Some data is released routinely, while other data is subject to application for access.
All government agencies are required to make their journals available to the
public on the internet, and access can be requested via the eInnsyn service or via e-mail.
The Norwegian Offshore Directorate also publishes data via our FactPages.
Examples of data we publish here:
- Status reports (relinquishment reports). These are published as soon as
possible following the surrender of a licence. - Completion reports and completion logs from wells older than 20 years. The documents can be found under the individual well.
- Prognosis and results for wildcat wells older than 20 years. If the wells are located in a relinquished area or a surrendered licence, the data will be published 1 year after relinquishment/surrender.
Well data, seismic data and production data are reported and released through the Diskos database. From 2017, Diskos has also contained CCS-data and in 2023, offshore wind data collected by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate, was loaded to Diskos.
Members of the Diskos Cooperation can download released data from Diskos
themselves, while non-members can order data via the Diskos Public Portal. The overview of data released in Diskos is open to everyone through the same portal.
