Three companies offered acreage for CO2 storage

19/12/2024 Today, three companies have been offered exploration licences for CO2 storage in two areas in the North Sea.

The authorities have reviewed applications from six companies following announcement of three suitable acreage in June 2024.

The companies are:

  • Aker BP ASA
  • Equinor Low Carbon Solutions AS
  • Harbour Energy Norge AS

This is the seventh time acreage is being awarded for CO2 storage pursuant to the CO2 Storage Regulations.

03/12/2024 The “Løvmeis” prospect in the Norwegian Sea, drilled by Equinor, has proven to be dry.
Oil discovery in the North Sea (2/6-7 S and A)
02/12/2024 DNO and its partners have discovered oil in the “Othello” prospect in the southern North Sea.
Production figures October 2024
